Hello, World!
I'm Marina, a Ph.D. researcher focused on
the intersection of data science and astrophysics,
with a specific interest in upcoming large-scale surveys.
Starting in September 2024, I will begin working as a Junior
Scientist and Astrophysics Ph.D. Candidate at the
Instituto
de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) as
part of the newly established EU-funded
'Exploring the Deep Universe by Computational Analysis
of Data from Observations (EDUCADO)' Doctoral Network.
My research will be centered around utilizing deep learning
methodologies for determining galaxy structures and morphologies
from massive datasets.
I am also passionate about outreach, advocacy, and community engagement.
Currently, I am open for bookings for local stargazing sessions and speaking engagements at schools and STEM events across the greater Nashville area until mid-August 2024.
Research Interests: Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI),
Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning, Computer Vision,
Astroinformatics, Astrostatistics, Galaxy Formation and Evolution
